canadian, eh?

There are a lot of misconceptions about Canadians out there in the world. Suprisingly most Canadian don't live in an igloo or know who invented the snowmobile.
However our family does LOVE Canadian maple syrup and we make it in a teepee! Maple tree tapping is all the rage in our little alternative rural community. It takes a long time to boil down a large amount of maple water into a tiny amount of maple syrup - but it is an easy way to get the family outside during the wet winter. Making maple syrup indoors is not recommended because the hours and hours of boiling will peel the paint off the walls. Last year we used an outdoor woodstove, this year we built an open fire in our homemade alder teepee and it was much quicker.
